SLO Assessment Timelines

Course-level SLOs are assessed every semester.  Many departments have developed a 3-year cycle of assessment for the courses offered within the department.  Please contact the appropriate Department Chair for additional information about which SLOs are scheduled for assessment in any given semester.

The chart below represents the campus-wide timeline for submitting SLO assessment results into the college’s assessment management system (i.e., eLumen).

Conduct Fall Assessments and input/upload assessment results into eLumen. Clerical support is provided through the SLO committee if needed. Department Faculty Assessments will be available in eLumen from the last week of instruction until the last Friday in January.
Discuss SLO results and observations with faculty from previous academic year. Make an action plan. Department Chairs and Course Coordinators Ideally, these should be completed by the end of the fall semester so that they can be implemented by the next semester.
Report on assessment results from Fall and previous Spring semesters. Share report (including three “take aways” from the data) with all department faculty and develop action plan for course and program SLOs. Department Chairs, Course Coordinators and Department Faculty Mid-Spring semester (March)
Conduct Spring Assessments and input/upload assessment results into eLumen. Clerical support is provided through the SLO committee if needed. Department Faculty Assessments will be available in eLumen from the last week of instruction until the last Friday in June.
Review Course, Program and Degree/Certificate SLOs and facilitate any revisions in eLumen and communicate any changes to Department Faculty. Department Chairs and Course Coordinators By the last day of Spring semester.
Implement revised COR SLOs from eLumen into all course syllabi. Department Faculty Before the first day of August.
Conduct Summer Assessments and input/upload assessment results into eLumen Department Faculty Assessments will be available the last week of each summer session so that they can be completed by the second week of Fall Semester
