Gilbert Rodriguez Named Employee of the Month of August 2019
The Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Selection Committee named Gilbert
Rodriguez as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of
the Month Award for August 2019.
Gilbert began his career at Cerritos College in 1981 as a Computer Operator, in the
past 38 years; he has been promoted four times and is now a Security Analyst in the
Information Technology Department.
Gilbert is a prime example of what a caring classified employee looks like. He has always given 110% to what he does. Although his work is usually behind the scenes, his role and contribution affect the entire Cerritos College community--from students, faculty, staff, and administration. If it wasn’t for Gilbert’s kindness, leadership, and strong technical skills, the Financial Aid module would still be processing files the antiquated way--storing documents in file cabinets and manually processing files on paper. It is because of Gilbert's dedication to this campus that the Financial Aid department nominated Gilbert for employee of the month.
"Gilbert, your dedication, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students and staff are exceptional. The administration, staff, and students appreciate your personal attributes and outstanding efforts. We are proud that you are a Cerritos College employee and we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Board President Carmen Avalos, as she presented the award to Gilbert.
