Full Certification

All Cerritos College faculty teaching in any online modality must be certified. You may show proof of certification through one of these three methods:

FULL CERTIFICATION OPTIONS

Cerritos College’s Full Online Certification consists of 9 self-paced modules and 3 remote synchronous book discussions during the course of a semester. By the time you complete our asynchronous self-paced units, Small Online Teaching Book Seminar, and successfully create your culminating project via your sandbox, you will be certified to teach Cerritos College students in online courses.

See the Full Online Teaching Certification page for more information and to sign up for the next semester-long cohort.

This certificate pathway, tailored to faculty and staff within the CCCs, draws on current learning and instructional design theory to help participants design and develop a Canvas course aligned to the CVC-OEI Course Design Rubric. Participants can choose between a 12-week course or their four, 4-week courses focused on usability, interaction, assessment, and accessibility.

See the @ONE Certificate in Online Teaching and Design page for more info

Faculty who have been certified to teach online by another accredited institution may qualify for full certification to teach online at Cerritos College. Such faculty should submit appropriate documentation (e.g., completion certificate/badge; transcripts with course description) to DECoordinators@cerritos.edu for validation (with the Subject line: “Full certification”).

Upon validation that the certification training addressed the key components of online teaching, faculty will be considered fully certified to teach at Cerritos College.

NOTE: Faculty who complete EDT 125 at Cerritos College may also qualify for full certification upon recommendation by EDT 125 instructor.

Visit this page for additional information about validation of DE training.
