Go Pass Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

**Starting Spring 2025**

You will need a Cerritos College Student ID Card & a ASCC semester sticker
 to pick up your card/code. We will not accept any other forms of identification.

Students must meet TWO requirements:

  1. Official enrollment in at least one course at Cerritos College for the semester the GoPass is being requested. Students must maintain their enrollment during term of the GoPass. Example: if the SPRING 2025 GoPass request is open, you must be enrolled in the SPRING 2025  semester.
    • If you are waitlisted for a class, this does not yet count as being enrolled. Please register after you have already enrolled in the class.

  2. Paid Student Activities Fee (CCSA) for the term the GoPass is active.  You will have to request a new registration code for fall, spring, and summer terms, and enrollment/fee eligibility will be checked each term. 

Eligibility in this program for Adult Education (AED) students:

AED Students must meet TWO requirements before requesting the GoPass:

Where and how to pay the Student Activities Fee (CCSA):

AED students wishing to participate in the GoPass program must go to the Admissions office in person and request to pay the semester Student Activities Fee (CCSA).

Make sure you ask for the ASCC sticker on your ID after you pay the fee.

Los estudiantes de AED deben cumplir con DOS requisitos antes de solicitar el pase de autobús:

  1. Estar oficialmente en al menos un curso de AED en Cerritos College para el semestre en el que se solicita el GoPass. Los estudiantes de AED deben mantenerse inscribido en sus clases durante el período de vigencia del pase. Ejemplo: si la solicitud de GoPass para la primavera de 2024 está abierta, debes estar inscribido en el semestre de primavera de 2024.

  2. Pago de la Tarifa de Actividades Estudiantiles (Cerritos College Student Activities Fee) del semestre en el que el pase está activo. Deberás solicitar un nuevo código de registro para los términos de otoño, primavera y verano, y la elegibilidad de inscripción/tarifa se verificará cada término.
Dónde y cómo pagar la Tarifa de Actividades Estudiantiles (CCSA):

Los estudiantes de AED que deseen participar en el programa GoPass deben ir personalmente a la oficina de Admisiones y solicitar el pago de la Tarifa de Actividades Estudiantiles (CCSA) del semestre.

The GoPass allows for unlimited rides on Metro buses and trains and select municipal transit systems, such as:

  • City of Commerce
  • Culver CityBus
  • Foothill Transit
  • Gardena Transit (GTrans)
  • Long Beach Transit
  • Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) DASH
  • Los Angeles Metro
  • Montebello Bus
  • Norwalk Transit
  • Pasadena Transit
  • Santa Monica Big Blue Bus
  • Torrance Transit

If you are new to our program: When picking up your new card and code in the Student Activities office, the staff will help you activate your GoPass card.

If you are already in our program: This means you should have already received a physical GoPass card from our office. You can activate your new GoPass online or by calling  866.TAPTOGO.

We recommend using a desktop computer to register and activate your GoPass.

Semester passes are valid for certain duration and expire on a specific date.
Codes are only valid during the semester they are issued.
If you did not activate your code from a previous semester, you will need to apply for the current semester's GoPass.

NO! DON'T TRY IT.
Your GoPass card and code may not be shared, transferred to, or used by any other person other than the enrolled student. This will lead to your disqualification to participate in the GoPass program.  Additionally, this would be a considered a violation of the Student Code of Conduct and will result in disciplinary action.

Yes. Eligible students will have to fill out the request form each semester.

The GoPass/code is blocked once you are no longer enrolled.

NO! Do not try to combine the Cerritos College eligibility code with another existing TAP card that has money stored on it. Combining the two will not work, and your code will be deactivated.

Codes will only work with the cards that are registered in the Cerritos College TAP program.

Lost, stolen, deactivated, damaged or inactive cards and codes will NO LONGER BE REPLACED by the office. One eligibility code per student per semester. 

Students may only be enrolled in one Metro program at a time. For instance, if you are enrolled in a reduced fare program such as the LIFE program, requesting the semester GoPass may not work. 

CERRITOS COLLEGE STUDENT ID CARD REQUIREMENT:

Eligible students will need to have a PHYSICAL CERRITOS COLLEGE ISSUED STUDENT ID CARD with the CURRENT SEMESTER STICKER (in this case "SPRING 2025") attached to the ID card, to pick up their card and code.

We cannot accept any other form of ID. We will not accept a photo of your ID and current semester sticker. You must present your Cerritos College ID  when picking up your card. No exceptions.

If you do not pick up your GoPass or code, you may be flagged and this may delay processing any future requests.

GoPass cards must be picked up on campus, by the requestor only. Please plan accordingly. Cards cannot be mailed to students.

Your TAP card is durable and designed to last 15 years. Treat your card like any other money card. Protect it. Do not bend, puncture or wash it.
