Jun. 25, 2013 - NORWALK, Calif. -- Cerritos College will be the first community college to implement DealerTrack in both repair order write up and sales analysis. Cerritos College will start its use on July 8, 2013.

Two companies were created by DealerTrack for Cerritos College to use in their Automotive programs; Cerritos College Working Dealership and the Northwood University Company. The Cerritos College Working Dealership is to be used with all students and faculty for Repair Orders (R.O.), fleet cars will be entered by VIN and worked on by VIN, and data will be used in Automotive classes. Northwood University Company will use static information to teach theory and the data will be viewed and interpreted, with the primary purpose for students is to understand the business side of a dealership.

"The Dealertrack system will give students real-world experience by exposing them to a structure that is used throughout many dealerships across the country, said Automotive Laboratory Technician, David Roper. "Students in the automotive department at Cerritos College will utilize the system in all their automotive classes; from the entry-level Auto-100 class, where they will learn how to answer and process the 3-Cs (Concern, Cause, Correction) to the Northwood business classes, which focus on finance and sales. Automotive students will also have access to a real-world replicated parts department, which they can use to simulate service and parts department undertakings as a service writer."
