Below are some resources that can help you as you decide on a major or career direction. While these web-based resources are can be invaluable, we encourage you to connect with a Career Services counselor to discuss major and career options, as well as any concerns you may have about the career exploration, decision-making, and planning processes.

  • EUREKA- Extensive databank on occupations, majors, and schools, as well as mini career self-assessments that help with choosing a major. Request a Eureka account.
  • Strong Interest Inventory (iStartStrong Report) - Identify interests and how they align with options more likely to lead to career satisfaction.

  • O*NET Interest Profiler - Quick and easy assessment that matches your interests to occupations.
  • California Career Zone - Multiple informal assessments to help you connect connect your interests and skills to occupations to consider.

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook - U.S. Government's Bureau of Labor Statistics' occupational data on salary, job outlook.
  • O*NET Online - The O*NET database includes information on skills, abilities, knowledge, work activities, and interests associated with occupations.
  • CareerOneStop - A great resource for career exploration, training, and jobs, including employment trends and labor market information.
  • Employment Development Dept. - Detailed California labor market information to help you make informed labor market choices with info on industries, occupations, employment projections, wages, and more.

  • What Can I Do With A Major In... - University of North Carolina Wilmington's comprehensive guide on jobs and skills related to different majors.

  • Major Search - A College Board resource listing majors grouped by area of study. Information includes an overview of each major, similar major, and related careers.
