International Education Week
International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. It is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education and part of the country's efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders to study abroad and welcome those from abroad to study in the U.S.
Led by the Office of International Student Services, now in its sixth year. We are fortunate to have faculty and department programs offering events that bring awareness to global issues, provide education on various cultures and traditions in the form of celebrations, dance, music, and food. Students and staff will have the opportunity to engage in these global conversations thus helping to internationalize our campus community.
These events are free to the campus and community members to attend during the week of November 18-22, 2019. In order to be part of our week long celebrations, please submit your request by Friday, September 6, 2019. If you have any questions please call 562-860-2451 and contact: David Tilahun at ext. 2232 or Norma Rodriguez at ext. 2358.
