PHYS 100

Student Learning Outcome: A student completing Physics 100 will critically examine and analyze mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, E&M, modern physics and wave related physical phenomena, solve physics problems that are appropriate for Physics 100, communicate effectively in a technical sense, and use physics laboratory equipment that is appropriate to this course.

Prerequisite: This is an algebra and trigonometry based Physics course. You must have taken MATH 140 (Trigonometry) or its equivalent as a prerequisite and you needed to get a grade of Pass or "C" or higher.

Textbooks: College Physics, 9th Edition by R. A. Serway and C. Vuille, published by Brooks/Cole, a division of Cengage Learning. There is also a version of this text for the Kindle which will work equally well. You will also need Schaum's Outlines College Physics, 11th Edition by Frederick J. Bueche and Eugene Hecht.
