Women's & Gender Studies Associate in Arts Degree

The goals and objectives of the Cerritos College Women's & Gender Studies Program are to prepare Women's & Gender Studies majors for an Associate in Arts degree, to transfer to four-year universities and prepare them for college work in upper division Women's & Gender Studies courses. As such, we are committed to offering a variety of interdisciplinary courses of interest to help students meet general education units.

Required Core (6 units):

  • WGS 103 or HED 103: Women, their Bodies and Health (3 units)

  • WGS 109 or PHIL 109: Philosophy of the Body, Feminism, and Gender (3 units)
  • WGS 115 or COMM 115: Gender, communication, and the Digital Revolution (3 units)

  • WGS 204 or HIST 204: Women in American History (3 units)

To qualify for a degree in Women's & Gender Studies, students must take courses listed above and complete all A.A. degree General Education requirements for a total of at least 60 units.
