Apprenticeship Opportunities

In partnership with the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA), our Continuing Education Division is offering an apprenticeship program that provides on-the-job training over a three year period, after which you graduate as a journeyman.

This program helps painters and contractors succeed in the painting industry.

Become a licensed professional specializing in all aspects of painting and decorative finishes for both residential and commercial properties. Your main responsibility is to provide professional painting services while ensuring quality workmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction.

  • Material Selection
  • Painting and Coating Application
  • Decorative Finishes
  • Surface Protection


Outcome

  • Your Journeyman Graduation includes certificates from Federal, State, Cerritos College and SCPDCA UAP
  • Approved for Southern California prevailing wage work

Training Hours

  • Apprentices enrolled in this PDCA ➔ programs will complete a total of 6,000 on-the-job training hours during a span of three years.


Curriculum includes

  • Complete 12 Modules
  • 20 Saturdays per year
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Hands on painting project
  • Safety Fair
