SPRING 2024 UPDATE

Welcome to the Spring 2024 semester!

We are thrilled to have all our new and returning students back on campus, ready to embark on a journey of growth, learning, and success. As the Dean of Student Accessibility and Wellness Services, I want to extend a warm welcome and share some important reminders and announcements to ensure a smooth and fulfilling semester for each of you.

Student Health Services: Our Student Health Services team is here to support your overall well-being. We offer a range of services, including mental health support, dietitian consultations, chiropractic care, and medical consultations. This semester, we are introducing the following:

  • Drop-in Mindfulness Meditation from February 28th-May 1st every Wednesday from 11:30 am-12:00 pm.
  • Tools for Calming the Body & Mind on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 10:30 am-11:00 am
  • Have you visited the Meditation Room in Student Health? Now is the time to stop by and take 30 minutes to disconnect and lay in a moon pod to relax! The meditation room is available Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am-3:00 pm.

Take the time to prioritize your health and attend these beneficial workshops.

Instructor Accommodation Letters: If you haven't already, request your Instructor Accommodation Letters through the SAS Student Portal. Detailed instructions are available in the Instructional Guide and Video.

Exam Accommodations: The SAS Testing Center has streamlined procedures for scheduling and uploading exams via the SAS Portal. Accessible Furniture: If you require specialized furniture for your courses, meet with your Specialist as soon as possible. This ensures ample time to assess and coordinate any accessible furniture requirements tailored to your needs.

Food and Drinks: Please be mindful of storing all food and drinks in your backpacks. Consume them in designated areas like the main hallway outside SAS to maintain a safe environment for shared spaces. Your cooperation is crucial in preventing accidental spills and allergic reactions.

Remember, Cerritos College provides various support services for your success. Utilize resources like Falcon's Nest for food, financial, housing, clothing, and other forms of basic need supports, and the Success Center for online tutoring for math and writing assignments, respectively.

Wishing you a successful and fulfilling semester ahead!
