Services Offered


The Success Center offers two types of general walk-in tutoring. The first is for math problems or math homework. The other is for papers and writing assignments. Individualized tutoring typically lasts 5 - 15 minutes depending on the complexity of the issue. Students receive tutoring on a first-come, first-served basis. This service is provided by faculty and tutors and is available at all hours of operation.

The Success Center also offers tutoring to students in various subjects on campus in a small group setting. Students requiring tutoring in subjects other than math and writing should visit the Math Success Center in LC 137 and fill out a request for tutoring. Tutors will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, as budget allows. Available Fall and Spring only.


The Success Center offers a variety of unique workshops taught by faculty and offered several times eachsemester.Workshops are 50 minutes in length, and students can attend as manyworkshops as they'd like. Available Fall and Spring only.


Designed in close collaboration with faculty in the content areas, Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) are meant to assist students in developing the essential reading, writing, study or math skills and/or strategies needed to succeed in their courses. Once a student completes a DLA, he or she will work with a faculty member or a tutor to ensure that the concepts covered in the DLA have been thoroughly understood.

Technology & Computers

The Success Center computers are available specifically for course work related to Success Center offerings. MyMath Lab is supported in the Math Success Center.

Assistive Technology and Services

The Success Center houses the innovative Ubiduo device, allowing stronger communication between DHH students and tutors/staff within the Center. The Ubiduo allows anyone to have face-to-face conversation in real time, without barriers. We also have ASL Interpreters available to work with students and tutors.
