What is Dual Enrollment?
- Dual Enrollment is the term used to describe enrolling in a college course and earning college credits while still enrolled in another K-12 institution.
What are the Eligibility Steps for Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment Students
- Students are permitted to enroll in 11 units for Fall and Spring semesters and 7 units
for summer.
- Student must take SRT if enrolling in an English or Math Class or a course with a
pre-requisite of Math or English on their MyCerritos account.
- Complete and Submit the Dual Enrollment Form
- Must have the following Signatures:
- Student
- School Counselor, Principal, or Designated Signer
- Parent / Guardian

Are there any Conditions to Dual Enrollment?
- Students shall receive college credit for the community college courses that they
successfully complete.
- High School Credit for a class is determined by your High School.
- Please talk with your High School counselor about this.

- Dual Enrollment Students may not enroll in the following:
- Pre-collegiate courses (1-99)
- Cerritos College has determined that non-transferable courses are the types of courses that would not be considered “advanced scholastic” in nature. Example: English 52, Math 75, ESL 4 or 5.
- Courses not available to the student within their school district.
- Students may not enroll in a college course to alleviate a high school deficiency. For instance, students who failed a course in high school may not retake it at Cerritos College.
- Physical education courses (PEX) in Summer
- Athletic Courses (ATH) or Physical education courses (PEX) are Not allowed in Summer
- PEX and ATH Courses may be allowed via approval from the Dean of HPEDA during the Fall and Spring Semesters Only! Students interested in taking a PEX or ATH Class should submit their Dual Enrollment Forms to dualenrollment@cerritos.edu & Dual Enrollment will send the form to the Dean to review and make a decision.

I heard they are offering Dual Enrollment Classes at my High School. How do I get more information?
- Dual Enrollment students are encouraged to talk with their High School Counselor to
see what Cerritos College classes are being offered through their High School.
- The high school counselor will let you know what classes are being offered and if you are eligible.
What are the steps to take a Dual Enrollment Class at Cerritos College?
- Complete the Cerritos College Application online (2 Parts) - YouTube Video Tutorial
- Go to Cerritos College Website and Click "Apply Now"
- Create your Open CCC apply Account
- Start & Complete your Cerritos College Application
- Make sure you hit "Submit My Application" on the last page
- Your Cerritos College student number will be emailed to you within 24-48 hours.
- Complete the Dual Enrollment Form
- Dual Enrollment Form (English) | Dual Enrollment Form (Spanish)
- Complete the full form including student information, class name and 5-digit number, and signatures from the student, parent, and counselor or administrator at your High School
- Completed forms should be emailed to dualenrollment@cerritos.edu
- Complete the SRT/GPT

- Students must enroll themselves through their MyCerritos account after their Dual Enrollment Forms are Processed.
- Check your MyCerritos for registration appointment or Open Enrollment.
- To Log in: User Id: Use Student ID / Password: Date of Birth (MMDDYY)
- High School students do not have priority registration, so students are advised to
have alternative classes in case their first choice is full.
- Pay Your Student Fees:
- Students are required to pay for their health fee every semester they take a class.
- Associated Students of Cerritos College (ASCC) Fees and Representation Fees are charged per semester as well, but can be waived using the forms below:
- The $46 per unit fee will be waived for students once the Dual Enrollment Forms are processed.
- You may pay your student fees online via your MyCerritos account.
- It takes 5 - 7 business Days for Enrollment Fees to be removed from your MyCerritos account.

How do I Enroll for the Class I want to take on campus or online?
- Make sure you have applied to Cerritos College for the Semester you want to take a
Class

- Cerritos College will work with your High School Counselor to get your forms processed
- Dual Enrollment will reach out to the student about how to enroll in the Class

- MyCerritos is a student account that contains valuable information pertinent to all
students including:
- Enrolling for Classes

- Student Center (View Enrollment & Financial Aid, View Holds & Fees, etc.),

WHAT IS CANVAS?
- Canvas is the main online platform professors use to teach classes at Cerritos College. Professors will often place your Syllabus, assignments, lectures, and messages on this platform; so students should check their class page in Canvas often.

What Fee’s do I need to Pay?
Students are responsible for paying the following fees:
- Student Health Fee: $19.00 (Fall & Spring) / $16.00 (Summer)
- Student Activities / ASCC Fee: $19.00 (Fall & Spring) / $13.00 (Summer)
- Fee can be waived by filling out the Student Activities Fee Waiver Request on the

What is the SRT?
The SRT (Self Report Tool) is an online questionnaire which provides new, first-time college students with the opportunity to place directly into transfer level English, ESL or Math courses based on their United States high school records. There are two sections: one for English/ESL and one for Math.
Do I need to take the SRT?
- Students planning to take English or Math Classes must take the SRT.
- For classes with a pre-requisite of Math or English, students must also take the SRT.
- If there is no pre-requisite of Math or English, then students do not have to take the SRT.

- Once in MyCerritos screen, scroll down to the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
- Click on “English/ESL SRT” link to complete placement process for an English/ESL course
placement.
- Click on “Math SRT” link to complete placement process for math course placement.
- Please allow 2 – 3 business days to post to unofficial transcripts and have Assessment
hold removed.
