Each pin marks real momentum toward your degree, your transfer university, and your future career.

Earn Your Falcon’s Finest Pins

Falcon’s Finest pins are awarded automatically based on completed units. Eligible students will be notified via email each spring with instructions to collect their pin.

Program Eligibility

Falcon’s Finest applies to eligible students beginning with the Fall 2024 entering class.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be a first-time, first-year student starting Fall 2024 or later
  • Maintain continuous enrollment
  • Remain in academic good standing
  • Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Complete the required number of college-level units within the designated timeframe

Flight Ready
15 completed units in your first year
  • Meet with a counselor to lock in your Student Education Plan (SEP) 
  • Join the Transfer Academy for support with transfer and scholarships

Transfer Candidate
30 completed units by the end of your second year
  • Follow your SEP
  • Complete remaining general education and major prep
  • Apply for your CalGETC Certificate

Graduate Candidate
45 completed units by the end of your third year
  • Finish your final classes
  • Submit your petition to graduate
  • Wear your Falcon’s Finest pins at Commencement—you earned it!

Tips to Stay on The Flight Path

Small steps now make a big difference later:

  • Aim for 15 units each semester to stay on pace for transfer
  • Take math and English early—they are required for transfer and strong predictors of success
  • Look for support courses, such as math classes ending in “S” or English classes ending in “E”
  • Meet with a counselor regularly to review your Student Education Plan (SEP)
