Demonstrate familiarity with major authors, works, genres, and themes of each literary period from the Anglo-Saxon era to the Enlightenment
Demonstrate ability to interpret themes found in the literature and intellectual movements of the period
Demonstrate understanding of appropriate academic discourse and the conventions of critical literary analysis
Demonstrate the ability to relate the literary works to their historical, philosophical, social, political, and aesthetic contexts
Demonstrate comprehension of the above through class discussion, written exams, and college-level writing that demonstrates appropriate use of primary and secondary sources, and correct MLA format and documentation
