Smoking Cessation

Student Health Services can help you quit smoking by providing information on counseling, nicotine replacement therapy, and quit kits.

  1. Counseling
    1. California Smokers' Helpline 1-800-NO-BUTTS
    2. Center For Disease Control Quitline: 1-800-QUIT-NOW
  2. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) can help provide relief of withdrawal symptoms people experience when they quit smoking.  
    1. NRT's include patches, gum, and lozenges. Coupons are available online to help alleviate some of the cost of these products.
  3. Smoking Quit Kits are available for students at Student Health Services.

Texting Programs

  1. California Smoker's Helpline receive texts daily and helpful tips for quitting. You can also text questions to counselors. 
  2. smokefreeTXT receive 3-5 messages per day to help you quit smoking. 
  3. DITCHJULL or text "DITCHJULL" to 88709 to receive tailored messages to help people quit e-cigarettes.
