English 100S ENHANCED FRESHMAN COMPOSITION (4.5 Units) This is a HYBRID class. Students will be required to attend both the online and in-person components. In person class meetings will be Mondays 11:00 am-12:50 pm AND the remainder of the class hours will be conducted online. Students will complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet-enabled device. #33041 (Hybrid)

English 103 CRITICAL THINK/ARGUMENT WRITING (4 Units) This course develops critical thinking and argumentative writing skills beyond English 100/100S. Students will read and comprehend sophisticated, persuasive, multi-modal texts and other visual media, learning to use inductive and deductive reasoning and recognize logical fallacies, rhetorical strategies, and implicit meaning. Students respond to diverse ideas and perspectives through writing compositions that include logical reasoning, analysis, and argumentative writing skills.
