Resolving A Debt

Once it is determined that you owe all or part of your financial aid back, you will be mailed a letter with the amount of the debt, the type of debt, and how many days you have to pay it.  Debts incurred are due within 30 calendar days.  You can pay your debt on MyCerritos. 

If you do not pay your debt within 30 days as specified in your overpayment letter, your debt may be assigned to collection to the Chancellor’s Overpayment Tax Offset Program (COTOP) or to the Department of Education, which could result in interest and/or fees being added.
