Exit Loan Counseling

COMPLETE YOUR EXIT LOAN COUNSELING

All students expecting to graduate or enroll in less than half-time (6 units) are required to complete an Exit Loan Counseling session.
Cerritos College Students MUST complete an Exit Loan Counseling session before you can have your disbursements released. Failure to complete the session will delay payment of your financial aid and a hold will be placed on your account .

During the session, you will learn valuable information regarding the following:

  • Borrowers Rights and Responsibilities
  • Forbearance, Deferment, and Cancellation options
  • Review Repayment Options
  • Importance of updating personal information with lender
  • Review information from Entrance Counseling

Note: The exit loan counseling hold will be removed from mycerritos on a weekly basis.

Completing the Loan Exit Counseling requirement is only one step in keeping your loan in good standing. Remember that student loan indebtedness is reported to credit agencies. Until your loan is paid in full, you should continue to communicate with your loan servicer regarding any changes in your address, school enrollment status, or questions about repayment options.

If you have any questions regarding the sessions, please contact Anabelle Horton at (562) 860-2451 Ext. 2397 or finaid@cerritos.edu
