Welcome to the Cerritos College App! This app is the official campus app for current students to engage with the Cerritos College community on their mobile devices. This app is an extension of Cerritos College, where we desire to create a positive, uplifting virtual community reflective of Cerritos College's ethos.

Therefore, while using the app, students will be required to abide by the policies and rules in the Standards of Student Conduct. Please be mindful when posting in this app that your behavior reflects our community.

Posts and comments that do not reflect these standards and the College values will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to, content (words, images, etc.), and links/QR codes to content, in posts, comments, and/or messages that relate, reference, or imply: drug or alcohol use, any illegal activity, harm toward self or others, abusive behavior (teasing, name-calling, social isolation, cyberbullying, etc.), intimidation or harassment, lewd/indecent/obscene/slanderous/libelous conduct, content that degrades or demeans others, solicitation of goods or services other than student-to-student textbook/course material sales, reposting direct messages/texts without expressed permission of all parties, posting private or contact information of individuals, and reposting of blocked or removed content.

Students who repeatedly use this app in a manner that is inconsistent with these standards, values, and policies/procedures will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct & Grievances and appropriate sanctions, including but not limited to removal of access to some or all of the mobile app features, may be imposed. Please join us in making this mobile app an uplifting and inclusive resource for our community.

Users are advised that this app and the postings are not moderated by Cerritos College staff 24x7. Further, you acknowledge and agree to the built-in moderation features for the Campus Wall in the Cerritos College App. This moderation includes screening by designated Cerritos College employees, who will remove content that violates these terms of use. Built-in user moderation includes the ability for users to flag posts or images that they consider inappropriate. Any posts or comments that receive four (4) flags are automatically removed from the campus wall to be reviewed by the Cerritos College staff, who will approve, move or delete the post.

The Communications Decency Act, Section 230, grants immunity to Cerritos College from lawsuits as the provider of the Cerritos College App. The app is the property of Cerritos College.

Cerritos College Falcon Wall Content Moderation Guidelines

The App Walls are spaces for current students to engage with the Cerritos College community on their mobile devices. The purposes of the Walls are to inform students about relevant programs, services, and activities; to help students navigate Cerritos College processes from enrollment through commencement; and to provide students a space to build relationships with their fellow students, staff, and faculty.

This app and the Walls are extensions of Cerritos College, where we desire to create a positive, uplifting virtual community reflective of Cerritos College's ethos.

Posts not conforming to the stated purposes of the Wall may be removed. In addition, the following content is not allowed on Walls and will be removed. Topic-specific Walls will allow content related specifically to their purpose (i.e. Financial Aid Q&A).

Prohibited content includes content (words, images, etc.), and links/QR codes to content, in posts, comments, and/or messages that relate, reference, or imply:

  • All guidelines within Board Policy 5500 Standards of Student Conduct. Refer to policy for full details. Summarized, this includes, but is not limited to:
    • Any drug or alcohol use
    • Illegal activity of any kind
    • Weapons and dangerous items
    • Threat of harm toward self or others
    • Abusive behavior or language toward others, such as teasing, name-calling, social isolation, cyberbullying, etc.
    • Intimidation or harassment
    • Lewd, indecent, obscene, slanderous, or libelous conduct
    • Profanity, including words which may imply profanity
    • Content that is pejorative, degrading, or demeaning of others
    • Posting course assignments, materials, or exams without permission of the instructor
  • Content that degrades or demeans others, particularly related to community member identities, such as national origin, religion, age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race or ethnicity, color, medical condition, genetic information, ancestry, sexual orientation, marital status, physical or mental disability, pregnancy, etc.
  • Solicitation of goods or services (however, selling textbooks/course materials between students is allowed).
  • Perceived violations of privacy, such as reposting direct messages/texts between individuals without their expressed consent.
  • Posting private information of individuals, such as telephone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, without their expressed consent.
  • Reposting of blocked or removed content.

Users who egregiously or repeatedly post content that violates guidelines will have posting privileges revoked.
