Admissions Process

Who May Apply for Admission?

  • High school graduates
  • Individuals at least 18 years of age (and may not have a high school diploma)
  • High school or middle school students (with permission from a parent and high school principal/designee)
  • International students (with F-1 visas)

How to Apply for Admission

1. Create an account via CCC Apply https://www.cerritos.edu/go/apply/cccapply.htm

2.  Complete identity verification using the ID.me platform.   This new feature allows for applicants to verify their identity by uploading a picture of their driver’s license, ID or passport and answering additional questions to verify identity.  There is also an option to speak to a live agent to finalize the verification process.  

To initiate the ID.me verification, please log into your OpenCCC account.  You will be prompted to verify your identity via ID.me upon logging in. The process is secure and only takes a few minutes to complete and it can be done from your mobile device or computer.  

Valid forms of government issued ID include:

  • Driver’s License or State ID card
  • Passport or Passport Card
  • U.S. Permanent Resident Card
  • Employment Authorization Document

Note: The following applicants will not be eligible for ID.me:

  • Applicants without identity documentation from country of origin
  • Applicants without a permanent address (housing insecure/homeless)
  • Applicants without access to internet or a smartphone
  • Applicants who are incarcerated, foster youth, or in juvenile detention
  • Applicants under the age of 18

3. Complete the Cerritos College application after verifying your identity via ID.me.

4. Done! Once you've submitted your application, you will receive an email from Cerritos College with additional information regarding your student account and enrollment.

A few other things to keep in mind as you apply:

  • First time or returning students (after an absence of one or more semesters) must complete an application prior to being able to enroll. 
  • If you are applying for multiple semesters, please complete the applications on two separate dates.
  • Information about the enrollment date and time will be made available on the student portal, MyCerritos.

Resident Requirements for Admission

A California resident, for the purpose of admission to Cerritos College, is a student who has lived in the state of California for at least one year and one day prior to the start of the semester.

What type of student are you?

first time

You are a first time college student if this is your first time attending any college.

Concerrent Student

Dual Enrollment

(formerly Concurrent Enrollment)

Dual enrollment is for students who wish to attend Cerritos College who have not graduated from high school.

Transfer student

You are a transfer student if you have attended another college, but have never attended Cerritos College.

Re-entry Student

You are a re-entry student if you are 25 years of age or older or may have a 3-5 year gap in your education.

International Student

You are an international student if you are from a foreign country and carry a student F-1 visa.

Returning Student

If you attended Cerritos College but did not attend the previous semester, you are required to reapply in order to reactivate your academic record.
