Teacher TRAC Mentor Program (TTMP) Information for Mentors

WELCOME!

The Teacher TRAC Mentor Program empowers students to explore the teaching field under the guidance of a Preschool, Elementary, Middle/High School or College mentor.

Program Highlights, Teacher TRAC Mentor Program students will:

  • Explore Pre-K through Community College teaching, STEM Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education through workshops and classroom observation.
  • Receive guidance and inspiration from a mentor teacher, a success coach, a community of peers and the Teacher TRAC Mentor Program team.
  • Students receive a $250 stipend per semester upon completion of 30 hours, which includes classroom visitations, TTMP community-building events, and Padlet activities.

Mentor Expectations:

  • Provide meaningful mentorship to a student interested in exploring a career in teaching.
  • Support mentees in completing 30 hours through a combination of classroom visitations, participation in TTMP community-building events, and Padlet activities.
  • Dedicate time for reflection. Reflection is a vital part of the program—students are required to reflect with their mentors on what they’ve learned.
  • Approve mentee hours on their interactive log.
  • Mentor up to two Cerritos College Teacher TRAC students for a minimum commitment of one year.
  • Mentors receive a $300 stipend per student per semester.
