- California State University, Long Beach Liberal Studies Program
The Liberal Studies major provides a rich, rigorous cross-disciplinary liberal arts program of study. There are two programs in the major: 1.) The Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) is for students intending to become teachers who wish to combine subject matter preparation for elementary teaching with coursework leading to a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. 2.) The single subject Credential Program is for students who seek subject matter preparation for a post-baccalaureate credential program. Student's in the Track I program have the opportunity to complete a concentration in a selected area of study. - CSULB College of Education – Elementary Subject Matter Waiver
Students who follow the current Core Requirements of the program and graduate under the major of Liberal Studies at CSULB may now utilize their coursework to meet the Subject Matter Competency requirement for credentialing, instead of taking costly Multiple Subject CSET exams. This means that our Liberal Studies students who have yet to attempt or pass CSETs for the Multiple Subject and/or Education Specialist Credential Programs will no longer need to take these exams in the state of California starting July 2017. - CSULB Liberal Studies Program Info Workshop - PowerPoint
