Admissions & Records

  • Graduation Deadlines
    • The petition to graduate deadlines for this semester has been extended to: Friday, April 10th, 2020
    • You may complete the application Online or Email a print version to Admissions & Records
  • Questions about withdrawing from classes due to COVID-19?
    • The State has approved use of Excused Withdrawal (EW), a withdrawal due to extraordinary circumstances.
      • The Excused Withdrawal does not calculate into GPA calculation, progress probation or dismissal calculations.
      • Students who have withdrawn or wish to withdraw between March 10 and May 22, 2020 can fill out the Withdrawal Questionnaire 
    • Students will have two options of how they would like their refunds, either getting a check in the mail or receive credit for their next semester of enrollment. Refund checks will be available within 4-6 weeks after form is submitted to Admissions Office. 
    • For Financial Aid student receiving Federal aid (Pell grant, SEOG, Direct loans) and/or State aid, withdrawing from classes may result in what the students owe either all or a portion of the amount. It is best to consult with the Financial Aid Office and/or review the financial aid website to find what the consequences will be. Students receiving California College Promise Grant (fee waiver) will not receive a refund.

Counseling

  • Students can make online appointment with a counselor to discuss more complex issues such as selecting a major, developing an education plan, dropping classes, or academic/progress probation.
  • For quick questions about course and degree offerings, course prerequisite information and general certificate, degree, and transfer requirements, students can fill out “INTAKE” form OR select Virtual Counseling Drop-In for assistance from an available Counselor.

Financial Aid

  • 2020-2021 applications are being accepted
  • Mobile App: “Verify My Financial Aid”: This new, easy, mobile, personalized process makes everything about financial aid easier. With Verify My Financial Aid, you will be able to:
    • Complete financial aid forms on your phone, tablet, or computer
    • Securely upload documents from any device
    • E-sign documents -- both you and your parents!
    • Manage your financial aid tasks online
    • Receive automated reminders about outstanding tasks and next steps
  • Message Center
    • To communicate with students about important time-sensitive information related to their financial aid, fees, academics, graduation and counseling.
    • This method of communication allows Cerritos College to provide sensitive information to students quickly and privately through MyCerritos.

  • We will provide counseling services remotely through one of the following methods:

  • One of our staff members will respond to your help desk inquiry or appointment request within 1-2 business days.

Assessment Center

  • Students who need a placement in English/ESL and Math, can take the SRT (Self-Report Tool) Online without the need to schedule an appointment by logging into their mycerritos account.
  • Their placements will take approximately 1-2 business days after submission and will be placed in their unofficial transcripts
  • Should students need online or over the phone assistance, they can call 562-860-2451 ext. 2599 or email the Assessment Center.

Grad Fair & Commencement 2020

  • At this time the Grad Fair scheduled for April 29th & 30th has been cancelled. While at this time Commencement has not been cancelled, we are proactively exploring options should the event need to be postponed or provided in an alternate format. We understand this is not ideal and want to create a meaningful event for our Falcons and their family/friends, to celebrate their significant accomplishments. Information will be shared with as much advance notice as possible.

    3. FREE Access to Lumen Learning OER Courseware: Lumen Learning, our OER partner, is offering FREE access to courseware to help supplement content.
    4. Free Shipping on Rental Returns & Deadline Extensions: The campus store is offering free shipping return labels and is also extending the non-return period without penalty to assist with increased returns by mail. Read the COVID-19 message on the home page of the campus store website.
